As is mentioned before, Maxthon 3 is not as complete as Maxthon 2.x, and we don’t want to let too many people use this alpha version. Another fact is that there are many fans willing to testing Maxthon 3 and we wish to collect some feedbacks to improve it.
We do invite some fans to join the core member group. But still we are not able to send all of them a copy of Maxthon 3. Therefore, we open an invitation page for our faithful friends, and let you help us distribute Maxthon 3. (NOTICE: There is a limit that your Passport User Level MUST be greater than 10, otherwise you won’t see the page below. )
If your user level is greater that 10, you can send a copy to those who wish to test Maxthon. It’s better if you use Passport to send download links, because we can log those email addresses, and we will be able to track their feedback easier.
If your user level is less that 10, left your Email and request an invitation in the forum. http://forum.maxthon.com/viewthread.php?tid=75711)

Q & A
Can I put Maxthon 3 alpha 2 in my blog for download?
It’s better that you send links via passport, because we can notify them of Maxthon update. Also, it is easier for us to collect feedbacks. I expect everyone could make the compromise that if you wish to send a copy to your friends using other method, always tell them the limit of the alpha version and make sure they really wish to test the alpha version.
How about if my passport level is under 10, and I want to distribute M3 Alpha to my friends?
The best way is to tell them the limit of M3 Alpha, and let them request on the forum.
It’s Tomb Sweeping Day in China as Spring returns and when I last looked, the download count on Maxthon’s servers had finally passed the 200,000,000 mark and is still counting at an amazing rate.
200,000,000 What a number! And the downloads continue at an unbelievable rate, like an out-of-control forest fire.
March 20, 2005. A memorable day for the Chinese IT world, for that’s the day the count on Maxthon’s main servers began, starting the long march of China’s 3rd party browser. Four years have sped by and Maxthon now has a solid membership of over 10,000,000 and is the winner of several Golden Awards from domestic and international associations.
Thanks to all the Maxthon users for their help and support and a special thanks to all Core Members and Admins of the Maxthon Forum. As Maxthon CEO Jeff Chen quotes: “Let’s make Maxthon better for all the users around the world.”
200,000,000 is just one milestone and Maxthon will set many more in the years to come. Maxthon will “keep on walking.”
Dear Maxthon users, here comes the first official news about the upcoming major version of Maxthon 3.0.
As some enthusiastic users posted about Maxthon 3.0 and wonder what Maxthon dev team is doing these days, they finally showed their face again after a long period of “occultation”. The Dev team wants to thank you all and they’re so glad to tell you that Maxthon 3.0 is coming, and REALLY soon. (But this doesn’t mean that Maxthon 2 will be abandoned, more features will be added to it.)
An “internal version” (Maxthon 3.0 Alpha) is released to the internal testing team. Public beta testing will be made when ready and please be patient at the moment. As you know, the Maxthon dev team always values “User Experience” above everything.
And thanks to the Maxthon dev team, here are some Maxthon 3.0 pictures never released to the public before:

As some of you may have read, Maxthon 3.0 will support dual browser engines. A fast and highly standard compliant engine will be working along with the good old Trident (IE). So Maxthon 3.0 will offer both “Turbo” and “Compatible” experience in one. Under the “Turbo Mode” users will enjoy the fastest browsing speed and state of the art website designs. For websites designed for older browsers, the “Compatible Mode” will be standing by a click away.

Generally, the Turbo Mode of Maxthon 3.0 shall work better than the Compatible Mode as of now. Yet there are still a lot of rooms for improvements in the future.
That’s all I want to say about for now. So sleep tight and stay tuned, as you could have seen Maxthon 3.0 one day when you wake up.
And Maxthon dev team wish you a happy fools day!
