San Francisco, CA, April 12, 2012 – Maxthon, a global software and web services company, announced its collaboration with Intel at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF), held April 11-12 in Beijing. Through this partnership, Maxthon will work closely with Intel to optimize its browser-based GPU acceleration technology with Intel’s next generation of chips.
Along with Maxthon’s cloud technology, which enables users to easily upload content and synchronize data across devices, this partnership with Intel will create a vastly-improved GPU-accelerated browsing experience. The result will add a new level of high performance to media-rich web experiences including cloud services, gaming and video.
“Our collaboration with Intel is one of several new partnerships focused on one purpose: making the web faster for everyone,” says Jeff Chen, CEO of Maxthon. “The current version of Maxthon 3 offers our first generation of our GPU acceleration technology. We look forward to what we can achieve by working more closely with Intel at the chip level.”
This agreement with Intel is the most recent achievement from Maxthon Labs, Maxthon’s R & D arm. Most recently, in March 2012, Maxthon took a commanding, global lead from all other browsers in HTML5 support.
“As more and more of the building blocks of the web experience move to the CPU, expect to see deeper collaboration between companies like Maxthon and Intel,” says Karl Mattson, GM of Maxthon International/Chief of Product Development. “Partnerships like this are building a firm foundation for more innovation and improvements down the road. We’re excited about where it will take us – and how it will benefit users of Maxthon 3 and Maxthon Mobile.”
